Prerequisites
Take a sharp putty knife, a small philips screwdriver and the needed RAM.
Unlike PPC models, Intel Mac Mini use SO-DIMM RAM modules: 2 x 200 pin di PC2-5300 (667MHz) DDR2 SO-DIMM.

Put the Mini bottom up

The sharp putty knife
Start with the front border.
The knife should enter the border about 2cm (.5-1")

The sharp putty knife
Act on the knife as a lever, pull up the inner border of the Mini.

The sharp putty knife
The front border should rise up.

The sharp putty knife
Repeat the operation on the right side of the Mini.

The sharp putty knife
Pull up the right border, same action.

The sharp putty knife
Continue with the left border.

Remove the cover
We can put away the sharp putty knife, and open the Mini cover by using your hands.

Remove the black connector
On the front side we can see the only connector we’re asked to unplug, it’s a black one.

Remove the black connector
Unplug the connector very carefully.

Remove the 4 screws
Unlike previous model this Mini has 4 screws locking the upper portion of the computer.
The 4 screws location in highlighted in yellow in the picture.

Remove the black connector
The back-right screw access isn’t very comfortable, because of a floating switch.
We can free the floating switch by pressing gently on its two plastic hooks.

Remove the black connector
Once the switch has been freed it’s easy to access the screw.

Open the Mini interior
Be aware of the wire of the floating switch, and lift out the upper portion of the Mini (as if it’s on a hinge, on the left side).

Replace RAM modules
SO-DIMM modules are now accessible.
Replace the RAM, and mount back the Mini paying attention to screws placement.. and don’t forget the first connector!
