Power off the MacBook, and place it on a smooth and clean surface

This is a very simple operation, and as a user you’re expected to do it on your own - no warranty will be voided.

We need:
√ a philips screwdriver #0 or #00
√ two So-DIMM RAM modules, So-Dimm DDR-2 (“SoDDR-II”)

Remove the battery

Put the MacBook bottom up.
Using a coin unlock the battery, then remove it.

Remove metal protection

In the battery bay we can see 3 philips screws, highlighted in yellow.

Remove the screws. These are the only screws we’ll handle, here.

Remove metal protection

Remove the metal protection as per the picture.

Unlock old RAM

RAM modules are tightly locked.
In order to unlock them we have to act on the lever located beside every module.

Replace the RAM

Remove the old RAM, and fit in the new modules.

Press them, so that they lock down. If the MacBook won’t boot after RAM replacement come back here, remove the modules and press them better.

We can now close the MacBook.
