It could be sometime necessary to remove iBook upper shell, i.e. in order to replace microphone wire, or the wire for the relais the “feels” the magnetic signal of “cover closed”.
That’s not easy.
Of course we’ll start by removing the four screws (two per side), but once the screws have been removed the shell will stay firmly in place… Plastic hooks There are a lot of plastic hooks locking down the shell to the alluminium skeleton.
In the following picture hooks location are pointed by the arrows.
How-to remove the upper shell To remove the upper cover portion we need to unlock all pof such hooks.
The better technique -always hard to be performed- seems to be to pull the cover on every side at the same time.
